Smiley is a village in the Rural Municipality of Prairiedale No. 321, about 20 kilometres northwest of Kindersley, where Highway 307 meets Highway 772. Its early years were shaped by the railway: the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway was completed in 1913 and brought an economic boom to the young community. Smiley incorporated as a village on November 26, 1913.
